Cash Hadnling Expert Insights: 7 Questions to Mr. Kameguchi
A: My entry into the counting machine industry was purely by chance. My career started in 1991 at Kanematsu Corporation in steel foreign export. When the company underwent a major restructuring in 1999, I transitioned. That pivot led me to Bilcon Corporation—a small company that caught my eye because it successfully sold its own specialized products worldwide.
While I initially knew nothing about counting machines, prior connections with Glory Shoji's overseas sales sparked my interest. I spent approximately 26 years building my expertise in the counting machine business.
My professional journey led me to MORICASH because I was deeply moved by President Mao’s passion and spirit of challenge. I strongly feel that I must become a valuable member of the team and do my utmost to contribute.
MORICASH stands out as the only company in this industry with a Japanese corporation. Our mission is to provide banknote counters to new customers—those not reached by traditional brands—under a separate brand that is committed to achieving Japanese and Korean level quality while maintaining competitive pricing.
A: After all, cash as a means of payment will never completely disappear. As long as cash exists, there will always be customers who need cash handling machines.
We will continue to supply these machines to improve convenience for such customers. Together with our distributors, we constantly strive to ensure that our products are chosen from among the many available on the market—by pursuing the latest technology and offering prices that satisfy our customers.
Even after the sale, we provide consistent after-sales service so that customers can continue using our products for many years to come. By doing so, we aim to enhance customer satisfaction and build long-term, trustworthy relationships as a reliable partner. These are the principles I always keep in mind.
A: I believe our approach is one that stays close to the customer — not only in terms of physical distance, but also psychological distance.
In Japan, customers do not need to contact overseas supplies or go through foreign representatives. MORICASH in Yokohama provides prompt and accurate support directly.
Our specialists in cash handling machines respond to every customer inquiry with expertise and care, earning their trust through our service. By steadily building this trust, I hope that MORICASH products can be of service to an ever-growing number of customers.
A: The most difficult time I experienced was around 2015 in my previous company, when the continuation of the business itself was in jeopardy.
Almost ten years had passed since the release of last new product, sales were steadily declining, and there were no resources left for new investment. Serious discussions were taking place about terminating the cash counting machine business altogether.
At that time, I strongly suggesgted for collaboration with other companies and managed to find a suitable partner in South Korea. However, the company initially rejected my idea, and I submitted my resignation in protest. Recognizing the seriousness of my determination, the company eventually agreed to treat one production lot as a trial. The result was a great success — since then, the counting machine business has been surviving.
This experience solidified my conviction that unwavering determination is necessary to deliver long-term solutions to clients.
A: I believe there are opportunities in improving customer convenience and addressing sources of customer dissatisfaction. For example, noise. There are likely many customers who desire a “quiet banknote counter.”
In my previous position, I also aimed to develop such a product, but it was never realized.
If we can create a “quiet counting machine” with originality and innovation, I believe it could become MORICSH’s core technology, which could then be applied to other products as well.
A: We hope to change the way people think about handling cash.
Especially in Japan, there are still many people who are not familiar with products such as banknote and coin counters. I used to be one of them. Many of these people spend a lot of time and effort counting and sorting cash by hand.
Although it requires an initial investment, we want them to understand how convenient and efficient these machines can make their work.
For example, election vote counting can no longer be done without counting machines.
We aim to promote the idea that machine processing should become the norm rather than manual labor, and through this, contribute to society with our counting technology.
A: Although the spread of cashless payments promoted by the Japanese government will inevitably lead to a decrease in cash circulation, I believe that cash will never completely disappear.
While cashless payments are certainly convenient, they become unusable in the event of power outages or communication failures.
In a country like Japan, where the likelihood of natural disasters is high, I believe that the promotion of cashless payment systems should be carefully considered, taking into account how to respond during such emergencies.
